There are many other parts of the province of Friesland to experience. Sneek is in the middle of Friesland’s lakedistrict. Enjoy views over the waterways while cycling through the beautiful landscape. Discover by boat, little charming places such as Woudsend, Heeg, Sloten and Grou. Visit the forests and IJselmeer coast, with picturesque towns like Stavoren and Hindelopen, in the southwest of the province. Day trips to the islands of Vlieland and Terschelling by boat from Harlingen are also a possibility.
